GeoMint uses the hostip.info database to track your visitors ip address with their geographic locations. GeoMint is still in beta, and there is a lengthy discussion about the Pepper at the Mint Forums that you can read.
The latest update GeoMint v0.30 includes some additional options for the data pane and changes to the display layouts. Definitely worth a look!
