Downloads Pepper v2.0 - What you need to know
Posted 28 June 2007 in Pepper by Sam Brown - 2 Comments
Till recently released v2.0 of his fantastic Downloads Pepper which has been in beta for a while now.
v2.0 now has two panes in Mint, the original Files pane from v1.0x which displays Most Popular, Most Recent and Watched downloads. The new pane is the Downloads pane which is very much like the Visits & Feeds pane from BirdFeeder, in that it displays the number of downloads in the past Day/Week/Month/Year.
What you need to know about v2.0
The most important change in v2.0 of Downloads that is not mentioned, is the change in name of the file that tracks your downloads! If you install v2.0 (sucessfully? See below) and are using the Manual Redirect method you will need to change all URLs from:
/downloads/download.php to: /downloads/tracker.php.
Hopefully Till will update the documentation soon! :)
Upgrading from v1.0x?
Upgrading from a previous version of Downloads? I was having issues upgrading from v1.02 to v2.0, it was asking me to upgrade to v1.03 before I upgraded to v2.0.. doing as I was told gave me the same error message.
Uploading a fresh install of Downloads worked fine. Uninstalling this Pepper before upgrading avoids this issue, but you will lose all previously saved data! Till is looking into it.
